Based on the highly sought-after "Japanese Vintage" reissued Fender guitars from the '80s, the Fender JV Modified '60s Stratocaster is sure to please. Three vintage-style single-coil pickups yield classic Strat tones, but with a twist: a push-pull Tone 2 pot allows you to switch in the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2 for modded-Strat tones straight from the factory. Factor in an easy-playing Thick Soft "V" neck profile, a vintage-style tremolo, and vintage-style locking tuners, and the Fender JV Modified '60s Stratocaster brings "Japanese Vintage" mojo to a new generation of players.

Leo Fender designed the original Stratocaster with three single-coil pickups. This enabled it to produce sounds that no other guitar could — particularly once players discovered they could lodge the 3-position blade switch in those in-between positions to access polarity-reversed neck/middle and bridge/middle pickup combinations that produced what is affectionately called the Strat "quack." The Fender JV Modified '60s Stratocaster comes with three sweet-sounding single-coil pickups selected by a modern, 5-position blade switch, making it easy to nail those glassy Strat sounds with a flick of the switch. And with the push-pull tone knob that adds the neck pickup to positions 1 and 2, the JV Modified '60s Stratocaster can create tones that are not possible on vintage-era Strats.

The Fender JV Modified '60s Stratocaster's maple neck is shaped with a Thick Soft "V" profile, with a satin finish that gives it a fast and smooth feel. The Thick Soft "V" profile gives this guitar a stout feel without inhibiting playability, which is particularly favored by "thumb over the fretboard" players. And while this thicker profile is a nod to vintage Fender guitars, its more modern 9.5-inch fretboard radius will feel right at home for most players.
